Job summary

Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) in Kununurra, WA is seeking a Health Promotion Officer – Immunisation to join a full-time fixed-term role until 30 June 2027. You will work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to promote immunisation through culturally safe programs.

The role focuses on planning, delivering, and evaluating education initiatives, increasing uptake, and contributing to improved health outcomes in East Kimberley communities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health Promotion or Immunisation strategies, or a willingness to learn.
• Experience working with or alongside Aboriginal communities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
• A valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Promote immunisation through culturally safe, respectful, and evidence-based health promotion initiatives.
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate community education programs; strengthen awareness of routine and targeted immunisation.
• Contribute to improving health outcomes by increasing immunisation uptake across the community.
