Job summary

TAFE NSW Dubbo Campus seeks a Teacher of Aboriginal Health (Identified) on a permanent full-time basis. Travel to locations may be required to meet needs.

You will deliver educational programs, facilitate learning, and support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students in primary health care, teaching safe medication use and ethical practice. Paid to Learn option offered for those without teaching qualifications.

Qualifications

• Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification.
• Subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications required.
• Current registration with AHPRA as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander PHC practitioner or nurse.
• Teaching qualifications or willingness to undertake Paid to Learn course.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience (within last 5 years).
• Hands-on clinical experience in healthcare with ability to teach students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver educational programs and facilitate learning for Aboriginal Health students.
• Teach students to work and communicate in a primary healthcare role with safe medication practices.
• Promote culturally safe healthcare and support student outcomes.
• Work in a diverse environment with opportunities for travel to multiple locations.
