Job summary

TAFE NSW is seeking world-class educators to inspire Aboriginal Health students at the Dubbo Campus on a permanent full-time basis. Travel to various locations may be required to meet operational needs.

You will deliver educational programs and foster learning, focusing on culturally safe healthcare for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. You will teach students to work in a primary healthcare support role, including safe use of medication and legal/ethical practice.

Qualifications

Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and documentation required.
Minimum level Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice or similar OR Bachelor of Nursing.
Need current AHPRA registration as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Practitioner, Registered or Enrolled Nurse.
Teaching qualifications or willingness to undertake the 14-week Paid to Learn course.
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience within 5 years.
Current hands-on clinical experience in healthcare with relevant clinical skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver educational programs and facilitate learning to Aboriginal Health students.
Teach students to work in a primary healthcare support role with safe medication use and ethical practice.
Contribute to closing the gap in Indigenous health through culturally safe teaching.
