Nerang, Gold Coast & Hinterland QLD is seeking an experienced Procurement Advisor to join a Queensland Government department’s South Coast regional team, based in Nerang. An opportunity is available for an experienced Procurement Advisor to join a Queensland Government department’s South Coast regional team, based in Nerang.
Working within the Program Support team, you’ll provide practical procurement advice and coordinate end-to-end procurement activities. You’ll support regional clients to achieve sound commercial outcomes while ensuring procurement work aligns with relevant policies, governance requirements and legislation.
You will:
Coordinate procurement activities from planning and documentation through evaluation, supplier negotiation and contract management.
Provide timely, accurate and professional procurement advice and support to clients.
Support the use of supply arrangements and preparation of contract documentation.
Monitor procurement performance, analyse information and contribute to reporting.
Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Identify and implement improvements to procurement processes and procedures.
Lead and coach support staff, helping identify skill and training needs.
Ensure work practices meet departmental and regional policies, legislative requirements and governance obligations.
You’ll bring:
Experience coordinating end-to-end procurement activities.
The ability to provide clear, customer-focused procurement advice.
Strong written communication, organisation and analytical skills.
Confidence working with a range of stakeholders and building productive relationships.
A continuous-improvement mindset and ability to support or coach colleagues.
An understanding of procurement governance, policy and compliance requirements.
Current Class C driver’s licence.
Willingness to undergo employment screening, which may include a criminal history check.
This is a 12-month contractor engagement, with a possible extension. The role is based in Nerang and is classified at AO5-equivalent level under the relevant enterprise agreement.
