DCP Electrical & Automation is looking for an A Grade electrician to join our small, growing team. Newly qualified electricians and motivated fourth-year apprentices are also encouraged to apply.
Our work takes us to wineries, high-end homes and architectural projects across the Yarra Valley. We also deliver home automation and lighting controls, air conditioning, new builds, service work and school maintenance.
You’ll have variety and opportunities to learn. Most jobs are within 20 minutes of Healesville, with occasional projects further afield.
You take pride in your work, and your camera roll probably has plenty of neat electrical installations to prove it. Your wiring is tidy, your fittings are carefully positioned and you deliver quality work efficiently.
You think ahead. You review plans before starting, check the stock and materials required, and identify problems before they hold up the job. You use good judgement to resolve issues within your responsibility and ask for input when needed.
You’re reliable, friendly and approachable. You communicate clearly with customers, builders and teammates, and you’re comfortable working independently or alongside others.
You want to keep learning. You don’t need automation or air-conditioning experience already, but you’re keen to develop your skills and put what you learn into practice.
Carry out residential rough-ins, fit-offs, switchboard work, fault finding, phone and data installations.
Organise materials and help keep jobs moving.
Liaise directly with builders, customers and other trades.
Guide apprentices with patience and clear instructions, where appropriate to your experience.
Test and check your work, leave a clean site and make sure customers are looked after.
Keep job notes, photos and time entries current in Fergus.
You’ll bring relevant residential experience and a sound understanding of electrical regulations and safe work practices. Responsibilities and supervision will reflect your qualifications and experience.
$45–$55 per hour plus super.
Take-home next-gen Ford Ranger with canopy.
Full-time position: 38-hour week with one monthly RDO.
$1,000 sign-on bonus after three months of successful employment and retention.
Specialist tools and equipment supplied, you bring your own hand tools and cordless power tools
Opportunities to learn air conditioning, home automation and lighting controls, and pursue relevant licences.
Progression into running projects and leading a small team, with potential for management responsibilities as we grow.
You’ll supply your own hand tools and cordless power tools. Fourth-year apprentice pay and vehicle arrangements will be discussed separately.
I’m Daenan, the owner of DCP. I’m easygoing, organised and want to help you do your best work. As you demonstrate your capability, you’ll have the freedom to run your work with support when you need it.
Outside work, I have a young family and enjoy camping with friends, gym and fitness, home automation and snowboarding. If you’re a boarder, we’ll have plenty to talk about, I generally head to Queenstown or Japan each year.
As a team, we enjoy BBQs, beers, golf days and a good laugh. Our values are communication, quality and reliability.
We use Fergus, Google Drive, Xero and direct team communication to keep job information accessible and everyone informed.
Anyone can earn a $1,000 referral bonus by referring someone we hire as an employee who successfully completes three months. Ask them to name you in their application.
We also welcome enquiries from qualified subcontractors at $70–$75 per hour plus GST, using their own vehicle and tools. The employee sign-on bonus does not apply.
