Job summary

Isaac Regional Council is offering a Trainee Finance Officer position in the Financial Services team, based in Clermont, Moranbah, Nebo or Middlemount to commence in January 2027. You will learn on the job with full training supporting your Certificate III in Business.

Job description

Isaac Regional Council is offering a Trainee Finance Officer position within our Financial Services team, based in either Clermont, Moranbah, Nebo or Middlemount. Commencing on Monday 18 January 2027.

About the role

• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial record keeping.
• Support reporting, data entry and reconciliation tasks.
• Provide professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Complete your Certificate III in Business with full training and mentoring support.

Role at a glance

• Type: Fixed Term – 12 months
• Hours: Full-time, 72.5 hours per fortnight
• Rate:$36.33 per hour
• Roster: Monday to Friday, 9-day fortnight (hello long weekends!)

Who we’re looking for

No prior finance experience is needed – just a willingness to learn and a positive attitude. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have strong attention to detail and enjoy working with numbers.
• Are confident using basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
• Communicate clearly and enjoy working as part of a team.
• Have completed Year 10 or higher.
• Hold a current driver’s licence (desirable but not essential).
