Job summary

Isaac Regional Council is offering a Trainee Finance Officer position in the Financial Services team, based in Clermont, Moranbah, Nebo or Middlemount. Commencing 18 January 2027, the role provides hands-on experience while earning an income and pursuing a Certificate III in Business.

No prior finance experience is required; you’ll learn and be mentored as you handle accounts payable/receivable, reporting, data entry and reconciliation tasks within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• No prior finance experience is needed – just a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and enjoy working with numbers.
• Confident using basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
• Clear communication and ability to work as part of a team.
• Have completed Year 10 or higher.
• Holding a current driver’s licence is desirable but not essential.

About the role

• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial record keeping.

Role at a glance

• Type: Fixed Term - 12 months
• Hours: Full-time, 72.5 hours per fortnight
• Rate:$36.33 per hour
• Roster: Monday to Friday, 9-day fortnight (hello long weekends!)
