Barry Nilsson Lawyers is recruiting a Graduate for its Insurance & Health practice in Sydney, commencing January 2027. The 12-month program offers hands-on experience across defendant insurance matters with structured mentoring and professional development, plus a pro bono secondment option.

You will complete Practical Legal Training on a part-time basis, with BN covering the course cost, while working full-time and being supported by senior practitioners to grow your careers in insurance law.

• Genuine interest in defendant insurance and litigation.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role

We are seeking a Graduate to join ourInsurance & Health practice in Sydney, commencing in January 2027.

Through our structured 12-monthGraduate Program, you will gain hands‑on experience in a broad range ofdefendant insurance matters, including professional indemnity, financial lines,construction, property & statutory liability.

You will be supported every step oftheway through structured mentoring, regular professional developmentsessions, and the opportunity to undertake a pro bono secondment. While workingfull‑time with us, you will complete your Practical Legal Training (PLT) on apart‑time basis, with BN covering the cost of the course.

Working alongside leading specialistsin their fields, you will be mentored by senior practitioners and Principalswho are genuinely invested in your development and committed to helping you succeedin practice and to grow your careers within the firm. This is an excellentopportunity to gain exposure to diverse practice areas, develop your legal,commercial and professional skills, and establish strong foundations for along‑term career in insurance law.
