Job summary

St Joseph’s Primary School Lockhart in NSW seeks a committed Classroom Teacher to inspire students and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the state curriculum. You will support diverse learners, collaborate with staff and engage families to foster student success.

This full-time maternity-leave position runs from 28 January 2027 to 30 January 2028. Accreditation requirements apply, with opportunities for professional growth within a supportive Catholic education community.

Qualifications

• Commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education.
• Accreditation (or commitment to obtaining) NSW RE accreditation.
• Appropriate tertiary teaching qualifications.
• Thorough knowledge of the K-6 curriculum with planning and evaluation ability.
• Ability to use assessment data to differentiate learning.
• Capacity to create a safe, supportive classroom environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff and families.
• NSW Working with Children Check.
• NSW NESA Accreditation or willingness to achieve.
• Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools or willingness.
• National Criminal History Check.

Essential Criteria

• A commitment to the values, mission, and ethos of Catholic education and the broader Catholic Church
• Accreditation (or commitment to obtaining it) and contemporary knowledge of RE pedagogy and the Religious Education curriculum
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the K-6 curriculum and the ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate high-quality curriculum programs that lead to improved student outcomes
• Skill in using assessment data to personalise and differentiate learning for a diverse range of student abilities
• Capacity to establish and maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment where students are engaged and self-disciplined
• Shows flexibility, organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and develop positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community
• NSW Working with Children Check
• NSW NESA Accreditation
• Accreditation for Teachers in a Catholic School (Category B, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or willing to achieve.
• Successful Candidate to undergo a National Criminal History Check
