Viewpointsystem in Vienna is seeking a hands‑on QA tester to join our hardware-software development team. You will test software as it is built and validate the hardware, ensuring smooth interaction between both realms.

Defining test plans from product requirements and executing them in tight feedback loops is key. You will track defects and sign off before moving toward assembly and production, contributing to a deep-tech hardware product.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of testing experience or ISTQB certified.
• Knowledge of testing principles across software and hardware.
• Hands-on experience with embedded platforms (Raspberry Pi/Arduino).
• Familiarity with interfaces (I2C, SPI, USB).
• Basic scripting in Python to write test scripts.

We build award-winning smart glasses in Vienna - hardware, firmware, software, all under one roof. Before any product reaches assembly or production, it has to pass through you. You're embedded in the development process - working side by side with software and hardware engineers, running feedback loop after feedback loop until everything works the way it should.

This isn't end-of-line checking. It's hands-on, technical, and right in the middle of the action.

Tasks

What You'll Be Doing

• Test software as it's being built - and feed findings directly back to the developers
• Validate hardware in parallel, and test how software and hardware behave together
• Define test plans and test cases that reflect real product requirements - and get your hands dirty executing them
• Work in tight feedback loops with both software and hardware teams throughout the development cycle
• Track defects, report clearly, and stay on it until issues are properly resolved
• Hand off only when it's ready - your sign-off is what moves a product toward assembly and production

Requirements

What You Bring to the Team

• 3+ years of relevant testing experience - or equivalent certification (e.g. ISTQB)
• Solid understanding of testing principles and methodologies across software and hardware
• Basic knowledge of mechanics and electronics
• Hands-on experience with embedded platforms (e.g. Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or similar)
• Familiarity with common digital interfaces and communication protocols (e.g. I2C, SPI, USB)
• Basic scripting skills, preferably Python – you can write a test script when needed
• You can read technical requirements and translate them into meaningful test scenarios
