We seek a candidate with a strong technical product background, experience in fintech, and fluency in German and English.

Qualifications

• Experience as Technical Product Manager or Backend PO in fintech, capital markets.
• Strong ETF trading knowledge: creations/redemptions, pricing feeds, settlement workflows.
• Expertise in API design (REST, WebSockets, FIX) and microservices.
• Experience launching features in greenfield projects from scratch.
• Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).

Technical Product Manager - Backend & ETF Integration (m/f/d)

Work for one of the leading and most well-known social investing platforms in the DACH region. For over a decade, this established fintech has been connecting investors transparently and digitally with successful investment strategies. For its next phase of growth, the company is expanding its Product Management team in Vienna.

Your Mission

In this role, you will lead the implementation and integration of ETF trading and settlement workflows on our platform from the ground up (greenfield initiative). Acting as the bridge between executive leadership, fintech partners, and core engineering, you will shape the backend architecture to ensure seamless, scalable, and high-performance ETF processing.

Your Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Product Conception (0-to-1): Define requirements and technical specifications for integrating ETFs into our core trading engine.
• API & Integration Design: Specify APIs (REST/WebSocket) and data flows to connect with custodian banks, market makers, exchanges, and financial market data providers (order routing, NAVs, real-time pricing).
• Technical Backlog & Roadmap: Translate business requirements into detailed technical user stories and manage development sprints in close alignment with backend architects and software engineers.
• Order Execution & Dataflows: Design and optimize trade execution workflows, clearing/settlement processes, and data models for ETFs.
• Vendor & Market Alignment: Evaluate and align with external infrastructure partners, ETF issuers, and liquidity providers.

What You Bring to the Table

• Technical Background: Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, Backend Product Owner, or former Software Engineer / Systems Architect (e.g., Java, .NET, Go, Python) within fintech, banking, or capital markets.
• ETF & Trading Knowledge: Strong understanding of ETF mechanics (creations/redemptions, pricing feeds, clearing, settlement, and trading workflows).
• Backend & API Mastery: Deep knowledge of API design (REST, WebSockets, FIX protocol), microservices architecture, databases, and event-driven systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Greenfield Mindset: Track record of launching financial features from scratch and navigating complex technical and banking ecosystems.
• Language Skills: Fluency in German and English (written and spoken) is strictly required.
