Qualifikationen

Join Allianz Commercial's Property Underwriting team as a Senior Property Underwriter based in Vienna, supporting a dynamic portfolio across Central Europe.

Reporting to the Regional Head of Underwriting Property and Engineering, Central Europe, you will drive profitable new and renewal business across the Property line of business, covering markets including Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.

In this role, you will be part of a highly experienced, collaborative underwriting team known for its strong market relationships, technical excellence, and ambitious growth agenda - making a direct impact on Allianz Commercial's regional portfolio performance.

What You'll Do

• Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets and contribute to the growth of the Property portfolio.
• Negotiate participation, pricing, and terms and conditions with brokers; proactively manage capacity.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the global Underwriting strategy for the Property line of business at a regional level.
• Support local operating entities with the delivery and execution of technical excellence, growth aspirations, and continued profitability.
• Understand and steer portfolio performance in support of regional and local underwriting teams.
• Coach, train, and develop less experienced underwriting staff, sharing your expertise to strengthen the team's overall capability.
• Positively represent Allianz Commercial externally to the market with key brokers and distribution channels.
• Proactively drive the involvement of functional areas in the underwriting process, including Distribution, Risk Consulting, Claims, and Operations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and other relevant stakeholders, including risk managers.

What You'll Bring

• A degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Law, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• Significant experience in property underwriting or as a broker in the Property line of business.
• Well-established broker relationships at peer level, with a recognized presence in the market.
• Excellent understanding of regional and local property insurance markets and the competitive landscape, including global dimensions.
• Good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework relevant to the role.
• Ability to assess risk exposures and natural hazards relevant to the Property line of business.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and implement consistent, robust policy wordings.
• Strong analytical skills - able to interpret complex data from multiple sources, identify issues early, and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to lead, convince, and motivate others without direct authority.
• Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision‑making is highly beneficial.
• Fluent English is required; German or other Central European language skills are a strong advantage.

Role

The base salary range for this position is between EUR 83,000 and EUR 111,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.

The annualized amount represents a market range and will also be determined by the location of the role. In the situation where you do not meet all the job requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, we offer an attractive performance‑based variable component based on location specific regulations, and you may be eligible for additional benefits.
