Job summary

TECHFRENS|ITXSO® is seeking a Senior Test Manager – Digital Payments to lead testing across a large-scale transformation. The role is primarily remote with occasional on-site meetings in Vienna, and starts in November 2026 for a duration through September/October 2027.

You will define testing strategy, coordinate SIT/E2E/UAT, and manage stakeholders at senior levels. The ideal candidate has extensive banking/payments testing experience, strong leadership, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Test Manager/Lead in banking or payments.
• Experience with SIT, End-to-End Testing, UAT, and defect management.
• Ability to coordinate complex testing streams across teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Experience in highly regulated environments.
• Understanding of APIs and large-scale system integrations.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent English is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Define and establish the overall test strategy, governance framework, and integrated testing approach.
• Coordinate testing activities across multiple entities, countries, delivery teams, and external vendors.
• Manage SIT, End-to-End Testing, UAT, Regression Testing, and Operational Readiness Testing.
• Align testing plans, environments, resources, dependencies, and milestones across stakeholders.
• Lead defect management, triage processes, escalation procedures, and quality reporting.
• Ensure requirements-to-test traceability and audit-ready test documentation.
• Coordinate testing involving external payment platforms and regulatory stakeholders.
• Prepare readiness assessments, phase-exit recommendations, and go-live support.
• Facilitate workshops and resolve cross-functional and cross-organizational dependencies.
• Present testing progress, risks, and recommendations to senior management and governance bodies.

About the Opportunity

For a leading international organization in the banking and payments sector, we are looking for an experienced Group Test Manager / Test Lead to support a large-scale Digital Payments Transformation Program.

This is a senior-level opportunity with responsibility for defining the overall testing strategy and coordinating complex testing activities across multiple countries, delivery teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Test Manager, Test Lead, QA Lead, or similar senior testing role.
• Strong professional background in banking, payments, or financial services.
• Proven experience with System Integration Testing, End-to-End Testing, UAT, and defect management.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex testing streams across multiple teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments.
• Understanding of APIs, interfaces, event-driven architectures, and large-scale system integrations.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Fluent English is mandatory.

Nice to Have

• Experience with payment processing, digital payments, transaction processing, or financial infrastructure.
• Previous involvement in central bank initiatives, digital currency programs (CBDC), or comparable payment ecosystem projects.
