Entain is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to design, develop, deploy, and maintain features across backend domains. Working within the Product & Technology Team, you’ll ensure efficient development across the SDLC while operating on a hybrid basis.

You will handle on-call duties and RFC-driven changes to improve the system. The role emphasizes C, .NET, and distributed systems expertise with strong testing practices and REST/gRPC WebApi skills.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of C with OO design and polymorphism.
• Experience with large distributed systems in high-traffic environments.
• Experience with messaging systems.
• Experience with the latest .NET features including C#, .NET, .NET Core, BCL, SQL, Redis, and Kafka.
• Deep understanding of multithreading and asynchronous/parallel programming.
• Proficiency in unit and load testing.
• WebApi development experience with REST and gRPC.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), the role holder designs, develops, deploys, and maintains software features within backend domains. Reporting to the Software Engineering Team Lead, the position sits within the Product & Technology Team and ensures systematic and efficient development through all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle. The role is offered on a hybrid working basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver well-defined, moderately complex features.
• Debug and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code following best practices.
• Manage team meetings and RFC processes for proposing changes and improvements.
• Act as the initial on-call responder for team-managed software.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of C, with a strong understanding of object-oriented design and the use of polymorphism and inheritance.
• Solid experience working with large distributed systems in high-traffic environments.
• Solid experience with messaging systems.
• Solid experience with the latest .NET Framework features and technologies, including C#, .NET, .NET Core, BCL, SQL, Redis, and Kafka.
• A deep understanding of multithreading and related concepts such as asynchronous and parallel programming.
• Proficiency in software testing processes and tools, including unit testing and load/performance testing.
• Good experience with WebApi development, including REST and gRPC.

• Starting from €56,900.00 per annum, based on experience level.
