Zusammenfassung

Sportradar, the world’s leading sports technology company, is seeking a frontend engineer to join our Vienna office. You will design and implement frontend features for casino games, virtual sports, and live betting interfaces, collaborating with engineers, designers, and product leads.

You’ll work in an Agile environment with WebGL-based rendering using PixiJS and GSAP, building maintainable UI and owning features from design to production while mentoring teammates and contributing to

Qualifikationen

  • Strong experience in software engineering with a focus on frontend development and production-grade UI.
  • Experience with WebGL-based rendering and animation frameworks (PixiJS, GSAP).
  • Understanding of component-based architecture, clean code, and reusable UI patterns.
  • Experience building responsive, accessible web applications in production.
  • Experience integrating frontend apps with REST APIs, real-time services, or event-driven backends.
  • Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows (code reviews, PRs).
  • Experience with automated frontend testing (unit/integration/e2e).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for frontend.
  • Ability to work independently and own features from design to production.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and balance of quality and speed.
  • Clear communication with designers, product managers, and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Comfortable in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Proactive with continuous learning.

THE CHALLENGE:

  • Design, implement, and evolve high-quality frontend features, user interfaces, and gameplay experiences for reliable, scalable, and engaging gaming products.
  • Translate product and game design requirements into robust technical solutions, providing constructive feedback and asking the right questions to improve outcomes.
  • Build clean, maintainable, and well-tested software that minimizes defects, supports efficient operations, and enables future product growth.
  • Take ownership of technical decisions within your area, actively suggest improvements, and contribute to planning, architecture discussions, and retrospectives.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Strong professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on frontend development and production-grade user-facing applications.
  • Experience with WebGL-based rendering and animation frameworks, particularly PixiJS and GSAP, for building high-performance interactive user experiences and gameplay interfaces.
  • Good understanding of component-based architecture, clean code, reusable UI patterns, and frontend software design principles.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining responsive, accessible, and performant web applications in production environments.
  • Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs, real-time services, or event-driven backend systems.
  • Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows, including code reviews and pull requests.
  • Practical experience with automated frontend testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing approaches.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for frontend applications.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of features from technical design through to production.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to balance quality, speed, usability, and maintainability.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including designers and product managers.
  • Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers and support strong frontend engineering practices across the team.
  • Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Proactive attitude and continuous learning mindset.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience in game development, casino games, virtual sports, betting products, or other real-time/high-availability entertainment systems.
  • Experience with graphics, animation, canvas/WebGL, or interactive gameplay interfaces.
  • Exposure to mobile-first development, responsive design systems, and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience making architectural and technical decisions for scalable, maintainable frontend applications.
  • Ability to design frontend solutions that support performance, reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Leading by example in code quality, reviews, testing discipline, and frontend engineering best practices.Supporting the team with technical guidance, mentoring, and pragmatic decision-making.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to support software development.
  • Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and ensure correctness, security, and maintainability.
  • Understanding of best practices and limitations of AI-assisted development.
  • Comfortable integrating AI tools into day-to-day engineering workflows to improve productivity and quality.

The minimum monthly salary for this position is according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, overpayment will be considered depending on qualifications and working experience.

Additional Information
