Job summary

SINGLE USE SUPPORT GMBH is seeking a senior automation leader to shape bioprocess automation from idea to market readiness. You will lead interdisciplinary teams, integrating software, control, electronics, sensors, robotics and mechanics to create scalable solutions.

Responsibilities include driving innovation, protecting IP, and ensuring compliance with life sciences quality standards, while collaborating across Product Management, Engineering and external partners.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in automation, mechatronics or electrical engineering.
• Several years of experience in developing innovative automation solutions, preferably in the life sciences sector.
• Experience with Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal); experience with Rockwell Automation is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering, control engineering, sensor integration, and system architecture.
• Experience leading complex development projects and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Innovative personality with a hands-on approach and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Business-level proficiency in German and English.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Shape the future of bioprocess automation from initial idea to market readiness.
• Provide technical leadership of interdisciplinary innovation projects and transform concepts into scalable, high-performance solutions.
• Develop and implement automation systems integrating software, control and regulation technology, electronics, sensor technology, robotics, and mechanical components.
• Identify and integrate AI, machine vision, and modern robotics to advance the product portfolio.
• Act as the technical expert and architect for automation solutions within product development projects.
• Drive innovation and contribute to building and protecting intellectual property through novel concepts.
• Ensure new products meet high quality standards and regulatory requirements in life sciences.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Operations and external partners to translate technology into market-ready solutions.
