Job summary

Randstad Austria GmbH in Vienna seeks a Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to architect, scale, and maintain mission-critical AWS cloud platforms, ensuring delivery between Europe and North America. You will own CI/CD pipelines, IaC with AWS CDK, and implement observability and release engineering within a Scrum team.

The role requires 5+ years of DevOps/Platform Engineering experience, strong GitHub Actions experience, and proficiency in English and German.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent with 5+ years DevOps/Platform Engineering experience.
• Strong GitHub Actions and AWS service knowledge (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
• Experience with AWS CDK; familiarity with CodeDeploy is a plus.
• Solid Linux administration, Bash scripting, and JavaScript/TypeScript coding.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and SIEM concepts.
• Willingness to start at 06:00 and occasional weekend shifts.
• Professional English and German proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain resilient CI/CD pipelines across AWS workloads using GitHub Actions and AWS CodePipeline.
• Develop, standardize, and scale modular cloud environments using AWS CDK.
• Automate build, test, vulnerability scans, and release processes (scheduled, nightly, on-demand).
• Collaborate across Europe/US with early shift start at 06:00, overseeing releases and handovers.
• Operate dev/test/production environments; participate in weekend coverage (1–2 times/month) for maintenance and upgrades.
• Maintain telemetry/monitoring; lead root-cause analyses and on-call duties.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Dev/QA/PM in Scrum.
• Write runbooks, guides, and ops procedures.
