Job summary

AUSTRIACARD is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own our cloud-based development platform, driving automation, reliability, and engineering excellence. You will design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP, build scalable environments, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.

You will work with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes, integrating security, monitoring, and compliance into development workflows while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve delivery

Job description

At AUSTRIACARD, we are building secure and innovative solutions in Digital Payments, Personalization, and Identity & Authentication. To strengthen our software engineering organization, we are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our cloud-based development platform and drive automation, reliability, and engineering excellence.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and automated development environments
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform
• Support containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes
• Integrate security, monitoring, logging, and compliance controls into development workflows
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, and security experts to improve productivity and delivery performance
• Drive DevOps best practices and continuous improvement across multiple engineering teams

What we're looking for

• Strong experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure
• Hands‑on expertise with AWS and/or GCP
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps
• Solid knowledge of Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and scripting (Python/Bash)
• Understanding of cloud security, IAM, monitoring, logging, and automation
• Ability to take ownership and work effectively in cross‑functional engineering teams

Nice to have

• Experience in digital payments, financial services, or other security‑sensitive environments
• Cloud or DevOps certifications
• Knowledge of software supply chain security, vulnerability management, and observability platformsWork on critical cloud infrastructure supporting innovative software solutions
