Job summary

UBIMET is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer in Vienna to evolve our infrastructure towards containerized, orchestrated systems. You will own Linux-based platforms and a self-managed Kubernetes environment, driving automation, performance, and reliability across weather services.

You will collaborate with software teams to modernize deployment practices, implement IaC with Terraform, and enhance CI/CD pipelines. A hybrid work model with significant Vienna office presence supports focused development.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional experience in DevOps, software development, or a comparable technical role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and hands-on containerization/orchestration (Podman, Kubernetes).
• Experience with on-premise infrastructure, self-managed Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Migrate VM-based environment to containerized/orchestrated infrastructure using Podman, Kubernetes, Elastic.
• Develop and improve automation and deployment processes using GitOps and IaC.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
• Collaborate with developers to improve how applications are built, deployed, and operated.
• Own the Linux-based infrastructure and self-managed Kubernetes cluster.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve system performance, reliability, and security.
• Document solutions, configurations, and processes for the team.
• Contribute to establishing DevOps practices and standards across the organization.
