Job summary

UBIMET GmbH in Vienna is seeking a Lead DevOps professional to evolve our Linux-based infrastructure and drive automation and modern deployment practices. You will collaborate with development teams to improve how apps are built, deployed, and operated, while taking ownership of our self-managed Kubernetes cluster and on-prem infrastructure.

The role emphasizes containerization, IaC, CI/CD, and continuous improvement, with fluency in English and German as a plus.

Qualifications

Multiple years of professional experience in software development, DevOps, systems engineering, or a comparable technical role.
Strong Linux knowledge with hands-on containerization and orchestration experience (Podman, Kubernetes).
Experience with on-prem infrastructure, self-managed Kubernetes clusters, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
Solid understanding of CI/CD, Git, and modern software delivery practices.
Interest in automation, operations, and improving developer workflows with a practical mindset.
Fluency in English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead and evolve our DevOps infrastructure across the stack.
Drive migration from VM-based to containerized/orchestrated environments (Podman, Kubernetes, Elastic).
Develop automation and deployment processes using GitOps and IaC.
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
Collaborate with developers to improve development, deployment, and operations.
Own Linux-based infrastructure and self-managed Kubernetes cluster.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance, reliability, and security.
Document solutions and share knowledge; help establish DevOps standards.
