Jobgether, on behalf of a partner, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend - Data Streaming in a remote-first setup. You will build a new data streaming architecture, design durable storage, and enable reliable data delivery at scale using Kafka and cloud storage.

You will collaborate with Product, Data Layer, and SRE teams, lead medium-to-large initiatives, and contribute to architectural decisions to ensure durability and scalability of the streaming platform.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Java-centric backend with distributed systems focus.
• Experience with object storage and durable upload/commit protocols.
• Experience with Kafka or similar streaming tech.
• Strong communication in a remote-first environment.
• Ability to drive initiatives through ambiguity.

Aufgaben

• Design and build core streaming infrastructure decoupling data access from live execution.
• Develop customer-facing streaming capabilities integrating with Kafka.
• Redesign analytics data access for scalability.
• Make architectural decisions on consistency, durability, and data reliability.
• Lead engineering initiatives and coordinate cross-team delivery.
• Collaborate with Product/Data Layer/DS/QA/SRE to deliver scalable solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident improvements.
• Contribute to engineering practices through code reviews and discussions.
