Job summary

Bybit in Vienna seeks a Compliance Counsel to lead regulatory programs, align with MiCAR, MiFID and PSD II, and support licensing in Austria.

You will monitor EU and Austrian regulations, perform risk assessments, train teams, and collaborate with internal functions to ensure ongoing compliance in a fast-paced crypto environment.

Qualifications

• LLB, JD, Mag. iur., LL.M., or equivalent law degree.
• Minimum 3 years of legal experience in-house, regulator, financial firm or law firm; Austria/Germany preferred.
• Strong understanding of Austrian and EU regulatory laws (MiCAR, MiFID, E-Money Directive / PSD II).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment with high integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including MiCAR, MiFID, and PSD II.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor and analyze regulatory developments, providing guidance to the business on necessary compliance adjustments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, including training and awareness programs.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and documentation to ensure timely compliance with reporting obligations.
• Support the business in obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses and regulatory approvals in Austria.
