About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team, working on a portfolio of high-profile blue-chip projects across Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Senior QS to take responsibility for major construction packages within a fast-paced, technically demanding environment. The successful candidate will have strong commercial and contractual experience, with exposure to large-scale projects and complex subcontractor packages.
Experience within the roofing, cladding, façade or building envelope sectors would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full commercial responsibility for assigned projects and packages from pre-construction through to final account.
- Prepare, manage and monitor project budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, negotiations and commercial agreements.
- Prepare and review valuations, payment applications, variations and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs against budgets and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Manage contractual correspondence, notices, claims and extensions of time.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor accounts and ensure commercial compliance.
- Provide accurate monthly cost/value reporting to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, Contracts Managers, Design Teams and site personnel.
- Identify and manage commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Support the resolution of commercial and contractual disputes where required.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- 5+ years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, with significant experience at Senior QS level.
- Proven experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, data centre, pharmaceutical, manufacturing or other blue-chip projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial management and procurement.
- Experience managing significant subcontractor packages and project values.
- Strong understanding of variations, claims, valuations, final accounts and cost reporting.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- A commercially focused and proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently while operating effectively within a wider project team.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.Willingness and ability to travel across Europe.
Roofing & Cladding Experience – Highly Desirable
Experience within the roofing, cladding, façade or building envelope industry would be a significant advantage.
