Order Manager Lead
Location: Schrems, Austria. Responsible for leading the Order Management team and ensuring successful execution of customer projects from order intake through delivery and project closure. The role provides leadership, coaching, and governance to a team of Order Managers while establishing standardized project management processes, tools, and performance metrics across the low voltage systems assembly business. Order Management Lead plays a critical role in building a high‑performing project execution capability, improving predictability, and driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Order Management Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Order Managers.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and development planning.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of Order Managers.
- Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, and execution excellence.
Project Portfolio Management
- Oversee execution of the complete low voltage systems assembly project portfolio.
- Ensure project priorities align with business objectives and customer commitments.
- Monitor project status, risks, resource requirements, and milestones.
- Escalate critical issues and coordinate resolution across functions.
- Ensure consistent project management practices across all projects.
Order‑to‑Delivery Execution
- Establish and maintain standardized project execution processes.
- Ensure effective coordination between Front‑End / Sales, Post‑Order Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, FAT and Testing, Logistics.
- Drive adherence to project milestones and customer commitments.
- Ensure successful handover from pre‑order to post‑order execution.
Customer Relationship Management
- Support Order Managers in managing strategic customer projects.
- Participate in customer reviews, escalation meetings, and project governance sessions.
- Ensure professional communication throughout project execution.
- Drive customer satisfaction and long‑term customer relationships.
Risk and Opportunity Management
- Establish project risk management methodology.
- Review project risks and mitigation plans regularly.
- Lead resolution of major project execution challenges.
- Drive proactive management of schedule, cost, quality, and supply chain risks.
- Identify opportunities to improve project profitability and customer satisfaction.
Governance and Performance Management
- Develop and maintain project management standards, templates, and best practices.
- Implement project governance and stage‑gate processes.
- Lead project portfolio reviews and execution reviews.
- Ensure data quality and reporting accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvement of project execution processes.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and eliminate recurring project execution issues.
- Improve project lead times and execution efficiency.
- Drive standardization and scalability of order management processes.
- Support implementation of digital project management tools and dashboards.
- Capture lessons learned and deploy best practices across projects.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Operations Management, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, order management, operations, or customer project execution, production systems implementation; 2+ years of leadership experience managing project managers, order managers, or similar roles.
- Experience in LV products/switchgears electrical equipment or similar industrial manufacturing, or engineered‑to‑order environments.
- Experience managing complex customer projects and cross‑functional teams, experience with project portfolio management.
