Zusammenfassung

University of Graz seeks a First Stage Researcher in the field of European Private Law. The role is part-time (20 h/week) and based at the University of Graz with Vienna as a major work location. The researcher contributes to European tort law research, teaching, and project applications.

The candidate should hold a law degree with high academic achievement, strong German and English skills, and a willingness to supervise students and assist in research administration.

Qualifikationen

  • Completed diploma or master’s degree in law with above-average success.
  • Good knowledge of Austrian Private Law and associated areas of law.
  • Excellent German language skills (spoken and written).
  • Very good English language skills (another foreign language desirable).

Your Responsibilities

  • Cooperation in the institute’s third-party funded and other research projects at the Institute for European Tort Law of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the University of Graz (→ place of work mainly Vienna, partially Graz)
  • Conducting of and participation in courses
  • Assistance in the application for research projects
  • Participation in examinations and support in student supervision
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed diploma or master’s degree in law with above-average success
  • Good knowledge of Austrian Private Law and associated areas of law
  • Excellent German language skills (spoken and written)
  • Very good English language skills (another foreign language desirable)
  • Enjoyment of academic work and working with students
  • Didactic competence as well as experience in supporting research and teaching (desirable)
  • Communication, organisational and team skills

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,865.40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
