Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in metalworking or machining preferred.
• Previous experience as a metal cutting worker or in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Proficiency in operating cutting machinery and tools; familiarity with blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods; comfort with working in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Cut metal to specified dimensions using various cutting tools and set up machines with correct settings and calibration.
• Inspect cut materials for accuracy and quality; adjust processes as needed to meet specs.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and wear PPE; report hazards to supervisors.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on cutting equipment; document production activities.
• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure timely project completion and continuous improvement.
