Zusammenfassung

IIASA is seeking a Researcher (R1) or Research Scholar (R2) to work in the Pathways workstream of the Exploring Real Zero project. The role involves analyzing cross-model innovation gaps, coordinating modelling teams, and synthesising results across IAMs.

Strong programming and English communication are essential. The position is based in Austria with home office options, offering a 1-year fixed-term contract with possibility of extension and a competitive starting salary.

Qualifikationen

• Master's (R1) or PhD (R2) in energy systems, climate or related field.
• Experience with IAMC-format data and integrated assessment modelling.
• Proficient Python for data analysis and reproducible workflows.
• Ability to write up methodologies and results in scientific outputs.
• Fluency in English and good presentation skills.

Aufgaben

• Contribute to/lead cross-model innovation gaps analysis across IAMs.
• Develop analytics for modelling protocol and harmonized assumptions.
• Lead written outputs, reports and scientific papers.
• Present methods and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support scenario analyses and multi-model data processing.
