Zusammenfassung

Climeworks Solutions seeks a Science Manager to ensure our nature-based solutions offering aligns with high-quality standards for carbon removal. Focus areas include ARR, IFM and Mangroves, with market screening, project vetting and due diligence of prospective partners.

You will refine assessment criteria, collaborate with Sourcing, and help shape strategy across pathways while supporting sales and knowledge sharing. Fluency in English is essential; onsite in Zurich with hybrid options.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., physical, natural, or environmental sciences, ecology, forestry, geography, earth systems or climate science).
• PhD is a plus for advanced research roles.
• Industry experience in nature-based solutions or carbon markets is highly desirable.
• Analytical skills to handle multiple datasets with scientific rigor.

Aufgaben

• Quality assessment framework development for nature-based pathways.
• Supplier assessment & monitoring of project ratings and progress.
• Project due diligence covering additionality, measurability, carbon accounting and co-benefits.
• Pathway segmentation to classify projects into archetypes as the industry evolves.
• Market intelligence & prioritization across geographies and pathways with Sourcing.
• Contracting support to amend contracts with vetted suppliers on quality criteria.
• Partnership development with rating agencies, registries, NGOs and thought leaders.
• Pathway-specific strategy collaboration with internal teams to shape market approach.
• Sales support by advising on project selection for proposals and pitches.
• Knowledge sharing on scientific developments and market evolution.
