Job summary

Erste Group Bank AG in Vienna is offering an exciting 12-month internship in Data Quality Management within the CFO division. The role focuses on data quality checks, BI production, and governance, with hands-on SQL/Python work and stakeholder communication.

The position is part-time (19.25h/week) starting mid January 2027, with an internship allowance and the option to split time between home and office, within a diverse, regulated banking environment.

Qualifications

• Ongoing studies at university of Applied Science.
• Fluent English is required.
• Interest in DQ Management and BI production processes.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain definition and scripts for Data Quality Checks.
• Update and maintain DQ reports in Tableau/Databricks.
• Monitor and analyze results of the Data Quality Checks.
• Support communication to stakeholders in Data Quality Management and BI production.
• Define/Run SQL and Python queries for DQ checks.
• Prepare presentations and testing activities.
• JIRA maintenance and Confluence documentation.

The Department Group Management Framework and Innovation is located within the area Group Data Management within CFO-division and is designed to improve Group-wide data quality and related processes and to automatize processes within Group Data Management. The department provides a DQM Governance and steering, the innovation framework and best practice including policies and end to end processes. is responsible for driving Innovation within the division with regards to usability, process and tool improvements.

Your Tasks

• Update and maintain definition and scripts for Data Quality Checks.
• Update and maintain DQ reports in Tableau/Databricks.
• Monitor and analyze results of the Data Quality Checks.
• Support communication to various stakeholders in the area of Data Quality Management and BI production.
• Define/Run SQL and Python queries for business and technical DQ checks.
• Prepare presentations.
• Testing activities.
• JIRA maintenance (Opening of Tickets, adapting Workflows).
• Keeping up to date department’s documentation (Confluence).
• Support the responsible use of approved AI tools for data-quality analysis, SQL/Python development and documentation, including validating outputs.

Your Background

• Ongoing studies at university of Applied Science.
• Speak fluent English.
• Like to think outside the box and possess a hands-on mentality.
• Have interest in learning and gain more experience in DQ Management and BI production processes in practice.
• Provide good social and communication skills.
• Profound experience in SQL and Tableau.
• Basic Python skills.
• JIRA/Confluence knowledge.
• Basic understanding of AI and generative AI, including their opportunities, limitations and risks in a regulated banking environment.
