Job summary

Lam Research in Salzburg is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop cutting-edge fluid and mechanical systems for semiconductor equipment, leading feasibility studies, testing, and detailed design.

You will create P&IDs, perform flow/thermal analyses, mentor colleagues, and work with suppliers to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role is on-site with flexible work arrangements and a competitive salary paid 14 times per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience, or Master's with 3+ years
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong presentation skills
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools: CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks
• Hands-on experimental/design background and solid engineering skills

Responsibilities

• Lead fluidic and mechanical system development from concept through productization
• Design and integrate gas and liquid delivery systems for high-purity applications
• Develop P&IDs, schematics, and layouts for manufacturable systems
• Perform analyses (flow, pressure, thermal, structural) and conduct testing
• Generate technical documentation, FMEA, and specifications for safe, cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, providing mentorship in fluid system design
