Job summary

GE HealthCare in Zipf, Austria, is seeking an AI Data Engineer (f/m/d) to develop reusable data tools, run shared infrastructure, and evaluate platforms for ultrasound teams worldwide. The role is hybrid with a minimum of three days in the office, collaborating with global teams to design, test, and operate data pipelines and AI workflows.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in computer science, data engineering, software engineering, information systems, AI, or related field.
• Hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines, shared software tools, or AI infra.
• Practical knowledge of cloud environments, containers, Linux, and data workflow orchestration.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with API design and data handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into tested solutions and operational procedures across teams.
• Design and run reproducible experiments and benchmarks on data platforms for ultrasound workflows.
• Assess interoperability, performance, usability, and cost against requirements; document methods and results.
• Refactor tools into configurable modules and standardize interfaces for reuse across teams.
• Develop and maintain shared libraries, services, and connectors with automated tests and deployment workflows.
• Build and operate data ingestion, transformation, and validation pipelines for data curation and AI development.
• Support onboarding, tool integration, and data/workflow migrations; provide feedback on gaps in shared infra.
• Implement data quality checks, logging, de-identification, and retention workflows with guidance.
