ams OSRAM in Premstätten, Austria, seeks a maintenance leadership professional to lead the Pod & Wafer Handling group, driving uptime, MTTR/MTBF improvements and cost reductions. You will coach engineers and FLM technicians to maintain high safety and quality standards while planning tool capacity for peak productivity.

The role requires strong mechatronics/electronics networking know-how, a technical education, and fluency in German and English.

Aufgaben

  • Oversee the Pod & Wafer Handling workgroup maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.
  • Lead, manage and coach Maintenance Engineers and FLM Technicians to meet targets and quality standards.
  • Define and implement KPIs such as Uptime, MTTR, MTBF and PM Compliance; communicate with stakeholders.
  • Optimize resources to maximize productivity and equipment availability.
  • Plan tool capacities and capabilities for optimal productivity and quality.
  • Ensure equipment management including selection, commissioning, safety, 5S and maintenance plans.
  • Monitor performance and costs, driving continuous improvement projects.

We are LSP – Light Sensors & Photonics, one of three business units within ams OSRAM, advancing the digitalization of light. At LSP, we go beyond traditional sensing—combining light, silicon, and system expertise to enable digital photonics solutions. Our focus is clear: powering next-generation applications in data centers, AR/VR, mobile and automotive, where light becomes a critical interface for data, perception, and interaction. This evolution marks a shift from components to integrated photonics systems —driving performance, scalability, and innovation in high-growth segments.

  • Overall responsibility for the successful execution of all tasks within the Pod & Wafer Handling workgroup, including commissioning, ongoing maintenance, sustainable repair, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and associated tools
  • Lead, manage, and coach team members, including Maintenance Engineers and First-Level-Maintenance (FLM) Technicians, to achieve operational targets, ensure required quality standards, and build a qualified and proactive team
  • Define and implement measures to achieve KPIs such as Uptime, MTTR, MTBF, and PM Compliance Ensure effective communication internally, externally, and with relevant departments and stakeholders (e.g., Process, Engineering, Line Control, Facility, and equipment suppliers)
  • Optimize personnel, equipment, and process resources to maximize productivity through increased equipment availability, improved OEE, cost reduction, and the planning and implementation of improvement projects
  • Strategically plan required tool capacities and capabilities to achieve optimal productivity and quality
  • Ensure proper management of manufacturing equipment, including equipment selection, commissioning, design considerations, compliance with safety standards, development of maintenance plans, equipment inspections, and adherence to 5S guidelines
  • Monitor and report performance and costs in alignment with production targets, including defining and implementing continuous improvement projects
  • Completed technical education, either at a Higher Technical College (HTL)/technical secondary school or through a vocational apprenticeship combined with several years of technical work experience
  • Strong leadership skills, able to act as a role model and effectively delegate tasks. First leadership experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in mechatronics, electronics, and networking technologies
