A snapshot of your day

As a Global Project Procurement Manager, you are part of a strong international procurement team that shares knowledge, develops ideas, and drives projects forward worldwide. Your daily work is shaped by true collaboration:

  • You work closely with Sales, Bid Management, Project Management, Engineering, and other procurement organizations to ensure that all project objectives are optimally supported from a procurement perspective.
  • Within a global network of Commodity Managers and Buyers, you ensure that project-specific requirements are fully considered in negotiations and awarding decisions.
  • Whether on-site or virtually, you support your procurement and cross-functional colleagues with clear communication, transparency, and a strong team spirit.
  • You always keep the bigger picture in mind and help continuously develop our procurement processes.

How You’ll Make an Impact

In your role, you actively contribute to the energy transition and take responsibility in strategically important large-scale projects:

  • You provide functional leadership for procurement as a sub-project lead in cross-functional, international teams for complex infrastructure projects in energy and hydrogen generation — with project volumes in the high three-digit million range.
  • You are responsible for implementing the project-specific procurement strategy: from tendering and negotiation to supplier qualification and awarding in line with budget and schedule requirements.
  • Through close collaboration with Engineering, you drive cost-out potential and technical optimizations, actively improving the project’s commercial performance.
  • You ensure a global, consistent way of working across all project partners and enable an effective flow of information — both internally and externally.
  • You collaborate with experts to professionally integrate topics such as industrial cybersecurity and act as a central interface between suppliers and the procurement team.
  • With your procurement levers, the use of modern sourcing strategies, and your market knowledge, you have a significant influence on project success.

What you bring

You impress with both your professional expertise and your personality:

  • A successfully completed degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, business administration, or a similar field — or comparable vocational training with relevant additional qualifications.
  • Several years of professional experience in procurement — ideally in project business or in interface functions such as Bid or Project Management, from a technical and/or commercial perspective.
  • Passion for complex projects and enthusiasm for procurement.
  • High self-motivation, a confident presence, and the ability to make decisions in a structured and fact-based way.
  • Enjoyment of cross-functional teamwork and intercultural collaboration.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and SAP.
  • A digital mindset, openness to AI-based procurement solutions, and basic knowledge of working with data analytics tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, customer and solution orientation, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Business-fluent German and English skills.
