Job summary

Computer Futures is seeking a Data Engineer in Vienna to design and implement scalable ETL pipelines for large-scale data environments. You will own data workflows, optimize pipelines, and collaborate with a skilled team in a modern office setting.

The role requires at least 2 years of Data/Software Engineering experience, MSc/PhD in a technical field, strong Python/SQL, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker/Kubernetes expertise, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Requires MSc or PhD in a technical field (CS/Engineering/Data Science).
• At least 2 years of professional Data/Software Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on Python and SQL in production environments.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and modern analytical DBs like ClickHouse is a plus.
• Experience building cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Familiarity with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficient with Git and modern software dev practices.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable ETL solutions for structured and unstructured data, including batch and streaming workloads.
• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for reliable, high-quality data for internal stakeholders.
• Monitor data workflows, troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth operations.
• Contribute to data modelling, database design, job scheduling, and data engineering best practices.
• Continuously improve data infrastructure and modernize legacy processes.
