Job summary

MED-EL Medical Electronics in Innsbruck, Austria, seeks a Clinical Engineer (m/f/d) for its Research & Development group to advance electrode research and optimize placement and stimulation in diverse inner-ear anatomies.

You will analyze pre-operative CT and MRI scans, perform segmentation of inner-ear structures, and contribute to tool development for standardized anatomical classification and cochlear implant planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (Biomedical/Medical/Imaging/CS)
• Strong fundamental understanding of medical imaging, particularly CT and MRI
• Solid knowledge of CT image interpretation: windowing, resolution, slice thickness, voxel dimensions
• Familiarity with MRI image contrast, sequences, and English technical documentation
• Ability to work accurately with complex imaging datasets and communicate effectively

As part of the R&D department, our Electrode Research & Inner Ear Malformations group is dedicated to developing cochlear implant electrodes and optimizing electrode placement and electrical stimulation of the inner ear across the full spectrum of its anatomical variations.

Your Tasks

• Analyze pre-operative CT and MRI scans of the temporal bone and inner ear
• Identify the cochlear, vestibule, semicircular canals, internal auditory canal, facial nerve canal, round window region and other relevant anatomical structures

Your Profile
