Job summary

European Investment Bank (EIB) invites applications for a full-time, 3-year contract in Luxembourg to deliver financial advisory services to Innovation Fund projects. You will appraise project maturities, prepare business cases, and support promoters with financing strategies, reporting to the Head of Unit and coordinating with EC/CINEA.

Qualifications

• University degree (min equivalent to a Bachelor’s) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or STEM.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, incl. 3 years in financial sector.
• Solid experience in financial analysis including business/financial planning and modelling, risk assessment.
• Experience in Structured or Infrastructure/Project Finance operations.
• Interest in innovation trends and access to finance issues for innovative projects.
• Strong analytical skills with sound judgment and problem-solving ability.
• Experience in multicultural environment and managing multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and ability to present to stakeholders.
• Good command of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or French with good command of the other.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate innovative cleantech project proposals for PDA support.
• Identify weaknesses affecting bankability of proposals.
• Develop advisory plans and scopes of work for implementation.
• Provide financial advice and develop financing plans with external consultants.
• Use financial analysis to prepare projects for grant scheme, financing and investments.
• Produce clear project assessments and final reports with actionable recommendations.
• Monitor cleantech markets and share insights to the Unit’s knowledge base.
• Maintain relationships with EC, CINEA, promoters, investors and EU bodies.
• Represent the Division and the Bank at external events and internal committees.
• Collaborate across Unit, Division and wider Bank.
