Job summary

The European Investment Bank (EIB) seeks an Associate Sector Specialist - Urban Mobility to join the Urban Mobility Division in Luxembourg. The role contributes to due diligence of transport and urban mobility projects, assessing technical, economic and financial viability to support EIB investment decisions.

Based at the Luxembourg headquarters with regular office presence, relocation support is offered. Panel interviews are anticipated for November, and the term is a 3-year contract at grade 4.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in civil or transport engineering, transport economics or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant infrastructure sector experience; transport sector preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in quantitative methods and economic/financial modeling is advantageous.
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or French; knowledge of other languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor the viability of capital investment projects and programmes in EU Member States and other countries.
• Support early screening of projects and assess conformity with the EIB's Transport Lending Policy.
• Contribute to advisory activities for implementation of operations and mandates managed by Projects Advisory (ELENA).
• Monitor project implementation in cooperation with other services.
• Contribute to sector studies, policy papers and unit cost database maintenance.
