European Investment Bank (EIB) invites applications for Associate Transaction Processing & Digital Transformation Officer in Luxembourg. The role combines financial operations with data analytics and innovative technologies to modernise the back office and enhance risk management.

You will work across auto­mation, AI, RPA and DLT initiatives, partnering with Front Office, Risk, Legal, IT and Data teams to deliver scalable, compliant processes in a high‑volume environment.

Qualifikationen

• University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science or equivalent.
• Additional postgraduate studies or professional qualification would be advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Treasury/Derivatives or back office of a financial institution.
• Good understanding of financial products (bonds, derivatives, repos, etc.).
• Good knowledge of SWIFT messaging and settlement processes.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with datasets.
• Exposure to automation tools, workflow engines or process optimisation techniques.
• Exposure to AI or data science use cases (e.g. anomaly detection, document processing).
• Understanding of distributed ledger/blockchain concepts for post-trade and settlement.
• Hands-on experience with data analysis or programming tools such as Python, SQL and data visualisation tools (Power BI).
• Knowledge or experience in project management is an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or French with good command of the other.

Aufgaben

• Execute end-to-end processing of Borrowings, Treasury and Derivatives transactions.
• Ensure timely confirmations, settlements and lifecycle event management.
• Perform controls to reduce operational, financial and reputational risk.
• Monitor and resolve breaks, settlement failures or discrepancies promptly.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of control frameworks in automated environments.
• Analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and KPIs.
• Increase straight-through processing (STP) and reduce manual intervention via data-driven insights.
• Identify, design and implement automation initiatives (reconciliation, matching, workflows).
• Prototype data-driven and AI solutions; validate outputs from business and risk perspectives.
• Prioritise use cases for automation and AI deployment in processing and settlement.
• Contribute to DLT-based settlement and post-trade solutions.
• Support integration of tokenised assets and new settlement models.
• Assess operational impacts of DLT and evolving market infrastructures.
• Act as a liaison between operations and innovation initiatives.
• Translate operational and regulatory needs into clear business requirements.
• Contribute to process mapping, documentation and tool upgrades.
• Analyse and resolve issues under time pressure; identify root causes and sustainable solutions.
• Strengthen control frameworks in AI/DLT processes and enhance resilience.
