Job summary

Erste Group's AI Office in Vienna is expanding, seeking an AI Governance Advisor to shape AI within a regulated environment. You will bridge governance, technology and innovation across the Group and Erste Digital.

In this role you’ll support governance, strategy, and operational enablement, collaborating with Legal, Compliance, Security, and Data teams to onboard new AI systems and turn strategic ambitions into actionable programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in a top-tier consultancy, technology advisory, or in-house transformation role.
• Strong project or program management skills (PMP, Prince2, or agile certifications a plus).
• A solid understanding of IT or data governance; experience in regulated industries is an asset.
• Keen interest in AI technologies, digital innovation, and their real-world applications.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
• A collaborative mindset and ability to bridge business, tech, and compliance perspectives.

Responsibilities

• AI Governance & Compliance: Support the implementation and evolution of the Group AI Governance Framework.
• AI Governance & Compliance: Contribute to assessments under the EU AI Act and internal risk frameworks.
• AI Governance & Compliance: Interface with Legal, Compliance, Security, and Data teams.
• AI Strategy & Innovation: Support the Group AI Officer in developing and evolving the AI strategy across Erste entities.
• AI Strategy & Innovation: Engage with key stakeholders to identify emerging AI trends and their relevance to the bank.
• AI Strategy & Innovation: Help translate strategic ambitions into actionable programs.
• Operational Enablement & Use Case Support: Act as a sparring partner for AI use case owners across Erste Group.
• Operational Enablement & Use Case Support: Closely collaborate with other units dealing with AI in Erste Digital.
• Operational Enablement & Use Case Support: Coordinate the onboarding of new AI systems, including risk assessments and architectural alignment.
• Operational Enablement & Use Case Support: Contribute to cross-functional working groups, task forces, and pilots.

Your Tasks

As AI Governance Advisor, you will be at the intersection of AI governance, technology, and innovation. Your work will span three key areas:

AI Governance & Compliance

• Support the implementation and evolution of the Group AI Governance Framework.

• For this position, we offer a gross annual salary starting at 66.700,00 EUR (full-time, including overtime allowance / all-in arrangement). Your actual salary will be based on your qualifications, experience, and individual fit for the role.
