Job summary

Erste Group Bank AG in Vienna is seeking a seasoned professional to join our AI Office, shaping governance, strategy, and enablement for responsible AI in a regulated environment.

You will partner with Legal, Compliance, Security and Data teams to implement a Group AI Governance Framework, drive strategic initiatives, and support cross‑functional pilots and risk assessments. The role offers a modern, flexible working environment in the heart of Vienna and opportunities to grow into leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in consultancy, technology advisory, or transformation roles.
• Strong project or program management skills (PMP, Prince2, or agile certifications a plus).
• A solid understanding of IT or data governance; experience in regulated industries is an asset.
• Keen interest in AI technologies, digital innovation, and their real-world applications.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and evolution of the Group AI Governance Framework.
• Contribute to assessments under the EU AI Act and internal risk frameworks.
• Interface with Legal, Compliance, Security, and Data teams.
• Support the Group AI Officer in developing and evolving the AI strategy across Erste entities.
• Engage with key stakeholders to identify emerging AI trends and their relevance to the bank.
• Help translate strategic ambitions into actionable programs.
• Act as a sparring partner for AI use case owners across Erste Group.
• Collaborate with other units dealing with AI in Erste Digital.
• Coordinate the onboarding of new AI systems, including risk assessments and architectural alignment.
• Contribute to cross-functional working groups, task forces, and pilots.

Your Tasks

• AI Governance & Compliance

Your Background

• For this position, we offer a gross annual salary starting at 66.700,00 EUR (full-time, including overtime allowance / all‑in arrangement). Your actual salary will be based on your qualifications, experience, and individual fit for the role.
