Job summary

Syneos Health, Inc. is seeking an Associate Counsel to manage vendor contracts, including clinical, commercial, and HR agreements. You will negotiate terms, provide pragmatic legal advice, and partner with procurement, privacy, and sourcing teams to mitigate risk.

The ideal candidate holds a JD/LLM/LLB and is a fully qualified lawyer with strong drafting and negotiation skills, capable of working in a fast-paced environment and coordinating with global legal teams.

Qualifications

• JD/LLM/LLB or an equivalent Degree from an accredited University.
• Fully Qualified lawyer.
• Law firm or in house experience is a bonus.
• Knowledge of contracts and commercial laws.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and take a business-oriented approach while identifying and balancing legal risks and providing succinct, accurate and pragmatic advice;
• Ability to work semi-independently while contributing to cross-functional teams.
• Outstanding relationship-building skills.
• Exceptional analytical skills, independent judgment, and a desire to learn.
• Can-do attitude, able to work under pressure and manage many contracts.

Responsibilities

• Assists end-to-end contracting related to clinical, commercial, corporate vendor contracts including reviews and negotiations of service agreements, Licensing, SaaS, HR & staffing agreements and related issues.
• Assists in negotiations with vendor’s legal team.
• Responds to and advises on legal requests and drafts Legal documents.
• Strong communicator—professionally handles emails, messages, and calls with internal teams and external vendors/clients.
• Advises business teams on contractual matters and risk mitigation.
• Interfaces with Procurement, Data Privacy, and Sourcing to support contracting matters.
• Assists in drafting and negotiation of all aspects of direct and indirect contracts.
• Works collaboratively across the Legal department and global team to drive completion of contracts.
• Desire to aid others and be a team player in problem solving.
• Liaises with global legal members and other departments to provide responsive legal support.
• Conducts legal research and analysis related to the company’s business.
