Job summary

Talan Spain is seeking a senior Java Quant/Data Engineer to join a remote, international team. You will optimize batch performance, integrate quant libraries, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

The role involves working with Quants, Data, and IMM teams on risk modeling and data processing, using Java, Spark, Parquet, and cloud tools like AWS. Prior experience in numerical computing and internal model development is valued.

Qualifications

• Strong Java — good with performance, memory, and multi-threading.
• Numerical computing — comfortable with heavy calculations and parallel processing.
• Credit counterparty risk internal model development.
• Build & test tools — JUnit, Git, CI/CD.
• Data — Spark and Parquet.

Responsibilities

• Improve performance so the daily batch runs on time.
• Integrate the quant libraries.
• Keep quality high — write tests, fix security findings, keep the CI pipeline green.
• Work closely with Quants, Data, and the IMM team
