Talan Spain is seeking a Technical Lead – Full Stack Java Engineer to join our Credit Risk team. You will own critical applications, guiding design, development, and support while actively coding to ensure secure, resilient, and highly available systems.

You will mentor engineers, promote best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders across technology and business units. This hybrid role is based in Spain with opportunities to manage work permits.

Formación

• 7+ years of software development in enterprise environments.
• 5+ years in Technical Lead responsibilities.
• 5+ years Java development experience.
• Strong backend development with Java 21; frontend with Angular.
• Experience with Maven, Node.js, relational DB.
• RESTful APIs, microservices, enterprise apps.

Technical Lead – Full Stack Java Engineer

About the role: We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead – Full Stack Java Engineer to join a Credit Risk team. In this role you will take ownership of business-critical applications, leading the design, development, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise solutions. You will combine technical leadership with hands‑on development, ensuring applications remain secure, resilient, and highly available while supporting business operations. As a technical lead you will mentor developers, drive best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders across technology and business teams.

Application Ownership & Support

• Act as the technical owner for Credit Risk applications and services.
• Ensure applications remain stable, secure, resilient, and available.
• Provide Level 3 production support for incidents, problems, and service requests.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues within agreed SLAs.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and business teams to minimize service disruption.
• Design, develop, test, and implement new features, enhancements, and defect fixes.
• Deliver regulatory, compliance, and business‑driven changes.
• Maintain and improve existing applications while reducing technical debt.
• Ensure all developments follow change management and release processes.
• Participate in production deployments and post‑release validation.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers and support engineers.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Promote high‑quality software design, testing, security, and maintainability.
• Drive knowledge sharing and maintain technical documentation.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and priorities.
• Provide technical expertise during incident management and problem resolution.
• Collaborate with third‑party vendors where required.
• Support audit, risk, and compliance initiatives related to managed applications.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of software development experience within enterprise environments.
• 5+ years of experience performing Technical Lead responsibilities.
• 5+ years of hands‑on Java development experience.
• Strong backend development experience using Java 21.
• Frontend development experience with Angular.
• Experience with:
  • Apache Maven
  • Node.js
  • Relational databases
• Strong experience designing and developing:
  • RESTful APIs
  • Microservices
  • Enterprise‑scale applications
• Proven experience writing unit tests and implementing automated testing practices.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented design principles and API best practices.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of software security, maintainability, and development best practices.
• Experience designing enterprise software solutions and system architecture.
• English level C1 or above.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting Credit Risk, Lending, or other Financial Services applications.
• Knowledge of Credit Risk integrations and data processing workflows.
