Vamos Academy in Buenos Aires is hiring Spanish teachers for our central campus. You will teach rioplatense Spanish to adult students from Europe, North America and Brazil, focusing on voseo, local vocabulary, and the way people actually speak in Buenos Aires, ensuring clarity for learners across the Spanish-speaking world.

You will prepare students for DELE, SIELE or CELU where relevant, and you can take part in cultural activities like tango, football, asados, and neighbourhood walks,

Formación

• Native or near-native Spanish speaking ability.
• ELE qualification or equivalent certificate in teaching Spanish.
• Experience teaching adults in a classroom setting.
• English knowledge at B1 or higher is a plus for beginner groups.
• Eligibility to work in Argentina.

Responsabilidades

• Teach group classes from beginner to C1 and one-to-one lessons.
• Place new students at the right level and adjust as they progress.
• Teach rioplatense Spanish with voseo and local vocabulary so students are understood globally.

We are hiring Spanish teachers for our Buenos Aires campus. Our students arrive from Europe, North America and Brazil, and many of them have chosen Argentina specifically - they want this Spanish, with its voseo, its intonation and its slang, not a neutral textbook version.

That is an advantage for a teacher here. You are not apologising for regional Spanish. You are teaching it on purpose.

What you would actually do

• Teach group classes from beginner to C1, plus one-to-one lessons.
• Place new students at the right level and move them when they are ready.
• Teach rioplatense Spanish honestly - voseo, local vocabulary, how people actually speak in Buenos Aires - while making sure students can be understood anywhere in the Spanish-speaking world.
• Prepare students for DELE, SIELE or CELU where relevant.
• Take part in the cultural programme: tango, football, asados, neighbourhood walks.

What we are looking for

• Native or near-native Spanish.
• An ELE qualification, or an equivalent recognised certificate in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
• Classroom experience with adult learners.
• English at B1 or above is useful with beginner groups.
• The right to work in Argentina.

About Vamos Academy

Vamos Academy is a Spanish and English language school with two campuses: one in Málaga, on Spain’s Costa del Sol, and one in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Students come to us from all over the world - some for a fortnight, some for a whole academic year, many through university exchange and Erasmus programmes.

Do I need to be Argentinian?

No. You need native or near-native Spanish and the right to work in Argentina. Being comfortable teaching rioplatense forms matters more than where you were born.
