Cowboy Space Corporation seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to own real-time software for spacecraft subsystems, spanning bring-up, driver development, debugging, and field firmware updates. You’ll work across hardware and software teams to deliver reliable, flight-ready code.

You will operate at the hardware/software boundary, reading schematics, validating interfaces, and crafting robust control loops for power distribution and thermal management in constrained space environments.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of embedded software or firmware experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS-based and/or bare-metal environments.
• Comfort reading schematics and using debugging tools.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and board bring-up.
• Ability to own a subsystem largely independently after ramp-up.

Aufgaben

• Own embedded software for spacecraft subsystems from concept through on-orbit operations.
• Design, develop, and debug real-time embedded software for microcontroller-based avionics boards in FreeRTOS and bare-metal.
• Implement low-level drivers, interfaces, and real-time control loops for power/thermal/sensors/actuators.
• Support board bring-up and reliable firmware updates in the field and on orbit.
• Collaborate to define system architecture and interfaces across teams.
