Cowboy Space Corp. is seeking a Head of Avionics to lead design, development, and integration of real-time avionics across spacecraft platforms. You will own architecture, interfaces, and testing strategies to ensure reliable on-orbit control, power management, and communications.

This leadership role requires 10+ years in avionics, a strong background in RTOS, MCUs/FPGA, and end-to-end system delivery, with emphasis on safety-critical, radiation-taware environments.

Formación

• 10+ years of avionics experience in engineering roles.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing and shipping embedded or avionics systems in production environments.
• Strong background in RTOS, MCUs/SoCs/FPGA, and hardware/software integration.

Responsabilidades

• Define the technical vision and roadmap for avionics across spacecraft platforms.
• Own system architecture across avionics, hardware interfaces, and system integration.
• Lead design and development of avionics systems, interfaces, EMI/EMC, and testing infra.
• Build and lead a team of avionics engineers, setting direction and standards.
• Ensure robust communication across subsystems and leads.
• Drive end-to-end development from concept to flight readiness.
• Collaborate with other spacecraft teams for seamless integration.
• Establish testing/validation/qualification strategies including HIL and simulation.
• Guide component selection, vendor partnerships, and manufacturing processes.
• Participate in system-level trade studies balancing performance, mass, power.
