Avenga seeks a Senior Node.js Engineer to join our FinTech-focused team in Argentina, with options in Buenos Aires or Córdoba. You will design robust microservices, drive architectural decisions, and push for technical excellence across our backend platforms.

Experience with AI-related platforms is a plus. You will lead the development of scalable backend solutions, collaborate with product and security teams, and own critical components from design through deployment, ensuring high availability

Formación

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development with Node.js/TypeScript.
• Strong microservices design and implementation experience.
• Proficient in AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, EKS).
• Experience with IaC tools like Serverless Framework or AWS SAM.

In Buenos Aires or Córdoba, Argentina, we are looking for a Senior Node.js Engineer to join our growing FinTech team and help scale and evolve our client's high-availability backend platforms.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will play a key role in designing robust microservices, shaping architectural decisions, and driving technical excellence across our platform. Experience or interest in AI platforms, AI-powered services, and AI agents will be considered a significant advantage as part of our strategic technology roadmap.

This is you

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing backend applications with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong expertise in designing and building microservices architectures.
• At least 3 years of practical experience working with AWS, including: AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, EKS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)tools such as: Serverless Framework, AWS SAM
• Advanced knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including Clean Code principles, Automated testing, Performance optimization, scalability, and reliability
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and connect them to business outcomes.
• Strong ownership mindset and end-to-end accountability throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to work independently, identify bottlenecks, and proactively drive improvements.
• Fluent in Spanish and intermediate English proficiency.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience building or contributing to AI platforms, AI-powered products, or AI agents.
• Knowledge of machine learning infrastructure or integrations with AI services.
• Experience in the FinTech industry.
• Previous involvement in highly scalable, cloud-native distributed systems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
• Familiarity with modern observability, monitoring, and DevOps practices.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and optimize cloud-native solutions leveraging the AWS ecosystem.
• Ensure high levels of system performance, scalability, availability, and reliability.
• Participate in architecture discussions and influence technical decisions that support long-term platform growth.
• Act as a technical mentor and trusted advisor to fellow engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
• Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
• Contribute to the evolution of platform capabilities, including initiatives related to AI-based solutions and intelligent automation.
• Take ownership of projects from design through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
