Job summary

Darwoft, a Latin American tech firm, is hiring a Senior/Staff Software Engineer for an AI-native transaction-platform project. This is a remote, LATAM-friendly, contract role (~15 hours per week) paying USD.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating production software systems.
• Strong fundamentals in architecture, system design, debugging and testing.
• Experience with large or complex existing codebases.
• Backend or full-stack experience with modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience building web apps and SaaS products.
• Knowledge of APIs, data modeling, distributed systems, cloud tools, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and evolve a large production codebase.
• Design and implement new product capabilities for a complex SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions as the product scales.
• Identify debt, risks, reliability issues, and improvements.
• Use AI coding agents (Claude Code / Codex / Copilot) throughout development.
• Leverage AI to explore code, implement, refactor, test, and accelerate delivery.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, data models, and workflows.
• Contribute across the stack and improve testing, observability, and reliability.
• Improve tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot multi-layer issues and balance speed with quality.
