Job summary

Toloka AI is recruiting a Freelance Forward Deployed AI Engineer to partner directly with CTOs and ML leaders. The role is hands-on, designing data-generation, labeling, and evaluation pipelines that power next-generation AI models.

You will own delivery from discovery to deployment, shaping best practices and mentoring fellow engineers. This remote, contractor position offers a fully remote schedule of about 40 hours per week through the Ontop platform, with opportunities to influence multiple

Qualifications

• 8+ years delivering complex AI, ML, or data projects end to end.
• Strong executive communication with CTOs and engineering leaders.
• Hands-on experience building data solutions and pipelines.
• Experience in modern LLM development and evaluation concepts.

Responsibilities

• Partner with CTOs/VPs of Engineering and ML leads to define data strategies.
• Design and build data-generation, labeling, and evaluation pipelines.
• Lead client engagements with evidence-based solutions and clear milestones.
• Mentor engineers and elevate engineering standards across engagements.
• Own end-to-end delivery timelines, quality, and scalability.
