Job summary

Herc Rentals Inc. is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to lead in product knowledge and maintenance standards at the branch, serving as a go-to resource for on-site repairs at customer jobsites.

You will operate independently, build customer relationships, and support fleet reliability on a daily basis. As a master technician, you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose complex systems, and educate customers to avoid future breakdowns while following safety and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate and test heavy equipment.
• Ability to understand detailed schematics, owner manuals, and product warning labels.
• Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs.
• Ability to be on call to support operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of preventive maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long term customer job sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition at the job site.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs.
